About

Asa Ta?

Leave your footprint across the Philippines.

β€œAsa ta?” is Bisaya for β€œWhere to?”, the question every barkada asks before a trip. Asa Ta? answers it with a map of the whole country: 1,263 places across 88 provinces and areas, the pasalubong to bring home, the festivals worth planning around, and how to actually get there. It's free for every traveler, and you can browse everything without an account.

Where the information comes from

  • Places and pasalubong are researched for the app and added by travelers, then reviewed before they're listed. Pins are placed using OpenStreetMap.
  • Festivals come from the Department of Tourism, local governments and news reports, and each one links to its source. Dates can change year to year.
  • Province facts come from Wikipedia, cross-checked with PhilAtlas. Province boundaries follow the Philippine Standard Geographic Code.
  • Maps by OpenStreetMap contributors and OpenFreeMap, with satellite photos from MapTiler and hill shading from Mapzen terrain tiles. Weather by Open-Meteo.

Things change: fees, hours, roads and ferry schedules especially. Always check locally before you go, and follow travel advisories.
